Planning started with a needs study to establish the building size and budget.
The structure allows public service to be separate from patrol functions. Features include space
for a small laboratory, a training classroom, and a video studio.
Design presented a special challenge. To be successful, the building had to
complement the character of both the community and the neighborhood. The result is a structure
that is less obtrusive than its actual size would indicate and a "good neighbor" to
nearby historical homes.
